The modern vintage style is still going strong in the design world today. If you are mixing your lamps, make sure that if they have metal bases, that they are in the same color family. Make sure that the lamp shades are the same color as well. Also, think about mixing textures. Instead of using all leather in a furniture grouping, mix in some fabrics making sure you have pattern in either your chairs or toss cushions. Look at adding texture in your area rug, throws, draperies and blinds.
